Technorati currently tracks 14.4 million blogs and 1.3 billion links and they say on average a new blog is created each second. Wow. Here are some highlights and links to Technorati’s three part "State of the Blogosphere" report: [State of the Blogosphere Part 1](http://www.technorati.com/weblog/2005/08/34.html) As of the end of July 2005, Technorati was tracking over 14.2 Million weblogs, and over 1.3 billion links. Interestingly, this is just about double the number of blogs that they were tracking 5 months ago. In March 2005 Technorati tracked 7.8 million blogs, which means the blogosphere has just about doubled again in the past 5 months, and that the blogosphere continues to double about every 5.5 months. [State of the Blogosphere Part 2](http://www.technorati.com/weblog/2005/08/35.html) Technorati is tracking about 900,000 blog posts created every day -- that's about 10.4 blog posts per second, on average. [State of the Blogosphere Part 3](http://www.technorati.com/weblog/2005/08/37.html) Technorati says that the number of blog posts with (simply categories or topics) is increasing dramatically. Almost a third of each day's blog postings use tags or categories:  just over 300,000 posts each day at the end of July. And lots of people are creating new tags that are built for specific purposes.
