The talented [Tyler Culbertson](https://twitter.com/culbertsontyler), who works as part of Tony's team on marketing and social media, filmed the Newsjacking section of my talk and we broadcast it via my @dmscott Periscope account. [Newsjacking](https://www.newsjacking.com/) is the art and science of injecting your ideas into a breaking news story to reach buyers directly and generate tons of media coverage and is the subject of my 2011 book. David Meerman Scott presents at Tony Robbins Business Mastery](https://youtu.be/Rsh3aR799m8) on YouTube. ### Periscope and your real-time business I used [Periscope](https://www.periscope.tv) on my iPhone to broadcast about 18 minutes of my talk. Periscope turns anyone with a smartphone into a citizen journalist. And for marketers, the app opens up the possibility of sharing all kinds of life events that can serve as content to reach your buyers. A live operation at a hospital, a tour of a home for sale, a peek backstage at a rock concert, a manager’s pep talk before the big game, or a product design meeting at a company - all become shareable in an exciting and intimate way. I’m amazed that even though it was a Saturday evening at 8:30 Pacific time, close to 1,000 people tuned in to watch the live Periscope broadcast or viewed the replay while it was available for the next 24 hours. There were nearly as many people watching the feed as were in the room in Las Vegas! We’re in a new world where you can share interesting events with the world and this has important ramifications for businesses of all kinds. Live streaming is a new way to share content and many people love watching streams. Are you reaching your buyers via Periscope and other similar apps like Meercat and Snapchat Stories? Periscope streams are only available on the app for 24 hours so I captured my Newsjacking stream on the Periscope site via ScreenFlow, edited it to add a few titles in iMovie, and then uploaded it to YouTube. ### Tony Robbins Business Mastery [Business Mastery](https://www.tonyrobbins.com/events/business-mastery/), where this was filmed, is the intensive five-day program that arms businesses with the strategies and psychology for thriving, and not just surviving, in any economy.
