Futurem Next week is a terrific set of events, activities, conferences, and tweetups in and around Boston discussing the future of marketing. Many events are free.

FutureM showcases ideas, thinkers, universities, VC firms and companies focused on the future of Marketing with panels, summits, roundtables, user groups, virtual events, demos, and parties organized throughout greater Boston and all focused on what's new and what’s next in Marketing.

Ims I'll be speaking at the Inbound Marketing Summit on October 6 and will be there on the 7th as well. (Use special code DMS50 for a 50% discount on IMS tickets.)

Hubspot On October 5, I'll be on a panel at the HubSpot User Group. And I'll be floating in and out of some of the other events (& parties!) during the week.

The inspiration for FutureM came from discussions started last year among a small group of people who realized that the Boston area is home to so many interesting new marketing people and companies.

Other places that "own" aspects of creativity.
Hollywood = movies
Madison Avenue NYC = advertising
Nashville = country music
Paris = fashion

Boston owns the future of marketing

Scott Kirsner has written some interesting things on the idea of Boston as the center of new marketing on his blog, in the Boston Globe, and he even created an Amazon list called The Future of Marketing: Books by Bostonians.

If you're in the area, consider checking out the events. If you're not, the hashtag #futurem is a good place to see what’s happening.
