My daughter (and co-author of Fanocracy) Reiko starts her emergency medicine residency at BMC in Spring, 2020. She will be on the frontlines of the Covid-19 fight and these sessions will help pay for needed supplies at BMC.

Project Live Fanocracy

Over the past several weeks, I’ve found myself going through several stages of emotions as I’ve been adjusting to the new Covid-19 world we live in. I started out in a bit of a daze, spending hours on the online news sites and my social media feeds as I processed what was happening in real time.

For more than a decade, I’ve met with thousands of people a year at my speaking engagements around the world. At the coffee break, during the cocktail hour, and at the networking events I thrive on hearing people’s stories and offering my advice on how to build fans and grow business.

I know many of you have been feeling the same way. You’ve told me via email and on social media. Our world has dramatically changed. We want to do more to help our communities, but where to start?

Lately I’ve become excited and hopeful as I’ve been thinking of new ways to connect with people like you.  Even though we cannot meet in person for the foreseeable future, we can still work together.

I selected the Boston Medical Center because my daughter Reiko, who is the co-author of our book Fanocracy: Turning Fans into Customers and Customers into Fans, starts her emergency medicine residency at BMC in Spring, 2020.

As a newly minted doctor, Reiko will soon be caring for the people of Boston fighting Covid-19. She is going into battle with an invisible enemy. Yes, of course I am worried about her. I’m her father and she will be on the front lines of this fight! However, instead of just worrying, I want to help.
