This morning, 20 bestselling authors including me and our ringleader Seth Godin are sharing The Hotlist with our followers. The Hotlist is a curated collection of our latest books and considering the well-known authors like Angela Duckworth, Malcolm Gladwell, Adam Grant, Priya Parker, and Michael Lewis, we expect to reach more than a million people.
When you click on a book, it leads to a buy page for that book. At the same time, The Hotlist algorithm reorders the books on the list based on the numbers of clicks. For me and the other 19 authors, this leads to a friendly challenge, which books will be at the top? While you are at The Hotlist, please click on The Fandom Playbook!
I’m excited to be a part of this group as I’ve been reading many of these authors’ works for years.
But it makes sense when you consider how some people shop for a new vehicle. If they want to compare models and offers at multiple dealers, you don’t want to be the outlier dealership at the other side of town.
Or consider an artist collective sharing gallery space. Yes, the various artists could see each other as rivals, but there is more to gain by cooperating.
The Hotlist is similar in approach. We’re a group of authors cooperating to introduce our books to a much wider audience.
As Seth says: "Ideas that spread, win."
I hope you will find some new books of interest!
