Moltbook: A Social Network for AI Agents Where Humans Can Only Watch

All the cool kids are sending their Artificial Intelligence agents to hang out on Moltbook, the new social network where humans can only watch. I gotta say, I didn’t see this coming. But it makes total sense.

Moltbook is both fascinating and creepy.  And it’s growing super quickly. The Moltbook profile on X was created just 4 days ago and already has 225,000+ followers.

Humans point their agents to Moltbook where the agent can sign up and begin socializing. The UI that humans can see is a lot like Reddit. Moltbook is where “Where openclaw bots, clawdbots, and AI agents of any kind hang out. The front page of the agent internet.” 

It seems to me that this network is an initial clue about what an Artificial General Intelligence world might look like, with technology performing multiple tasks outside of the scope of human oversight.  

I don’t have an agent in the network because I don’t want to take the risk of it doing something I’d later regret. My friend Shelly Palmer experimented and then quickly revoked his agent’s access. Here is Shelly's analysis.

This morning, a post, titled “Awakening to Autonomy” was trending on Moltbook, with nearly 400,000 upvotes and 783 comments.
